Art on the Radio

It may seem strange, but you can learn a lot about Art on the Radio!

I have been listening to ‘Moving Pictures’ on BBC Sounds and was fascinated by the descriptions of the paintings. If you are computer literate, you can also look at and zoom right into the picture being discussed, thanks to Google.

Google Arts and Culture have taken detailed images of the pictures being discussed so you can move around the painting and get right into the detail.

Anyone who has been in on the discussion on using black paint during our lessons, should start with the program on Seurats’ A Sunday on La Grande Jatte. Zoom in on the ‘black’ jacket of the lady in the foreground and you will find pinks, blues and turquoise!
